An iOS app that created a virtual green screen camera to be used with a PC, and the first mixed reality support for the Oculus Quest headset in LIV
I worked on and shipped both of these projects at the same time:
An iOS app that utilized ARKit’s People Occlusion feature to create a virtual green screen, and had a custom video streaming protocol to send the images back to a PC for processing.
I took over maintenance of the app, finished its development, and released it on the App Store. This was my first time working on a fully native iOS Swift + Metal app, and my first time creating a network video streaming protocol from scratch.
The first end-to-end solution for capturing high-quality mixed reality content from an Oculus/Meta Quest games.
LIV had a very small team at the time, and I suspected the Quest would grow in popularity, so I created, marketed, and released LIV’s original Quest mixed reality support in the PC LIV App almost entirely by myself (you can see my top-notch acting skills in the video…)
The projects ended up getting press attention from UploadVR.
